My Tank Thread
This month's subject - Fish Feeding
Deadline to Enter: 5th June 2025 at 11:59 pm (EST)
Looking forward to great shots of fish feedings ! Remember, the photo has to have been taken by you, and the subject has to be in your aquarium.
No watermarks or captions are allowed in the pictures and pictures with watermarks will be disqualified.
A bit of info around your shot, Fish ID , how long you had it, what you like about it and general observation around it ... would help creating nice discussions.
This is a photo contest after all and we're looking for the best photograph. Yes, you can use a post-editing product to better your pictures. In fact, we encourage it.
Few tips:
- Clean tank glass a day in advance of the photoshoot.
- Chose a time to take the shot when you feel lighting works best for the coral in question, or maybe just adjust lights to your preference.
- Chose a frame that you feel shows the coral best and don't be afraid to show a large part of the tank to showcase how the coral is really the highlight.
- Play with front, side or top-down views to experiment and chose the angle that works best.
- Maybe include fish next to the coral to showcase size.
- Experiment with a small aperture opening to get most of the coral in question or maybe a large aperture to get a shallow depth of field emphasizing coral size
Prize: POTM Winner Banner, one year free Premium Membership and an Avast Marine Porthole courtesy of Avast Marine. Details below. (Note: Winners located outside the United States will be responsible for applicable shipping costs)
