I would say BBGM on the left and ME on the right.

Because red eyes are usually seen on the bbgm and orange are usually seen on the mummy eye.

Typically what kind of lighting should they be under? Right now they are both at the bottom of my 40Br with a Tek 4bulb but the BGM isn't getting nice coloration like I have seen in other colonies.

I also have a TEK 4 bulb fixture. My bubble gum is about 20-15in. away from the fixture. I would say the color is OK, i've seen better though. Im not sure on what light it likes the best but I know WWC's frags look almost perfect and they mainly run 20k mh's,I think.

What should the color be on the BGM? Bright green like the ME? Should I bring them up some?

Think if I put it a little bit higher I'll get that nice green?

I'm pretty sure it the other way around. In the first pic the BGM is on the right. It really depends on which mummy eye you've got, but I think the one that's more green is the BGM and the teal is the the ME. GL with them.

I think KLR is right. I checked out the thread you mentioned and I deffinetly see that the right one is ME. BGM is his thread has the same color skirt as my whole chalice so Im just going to guess when my frag gets bigger, it will show more green.

I did have another chalice that was sold to me as Emerald Mummy Eye. Has bright deep red eyes and a grey body. Does that sound like a frag of EME?

Here is the break down on the mummy eye type chalices.

Rule number 1-They all morph like crazy!

The most commonly seen colors of them

Original Mummy Eye-Moderatly bright green with orange eyes
Cornbred's Mummy Eye-INSANE bright green with neon orange eyes, sometimes the eyes have a pink ring around them.
Emerald Mummy Eye-Varies from teal/grayish to green with red eyes
Meng's Mummy Eye-Bright green with pink eyes, sometimes orange. This chalice can get a pink/red rim on rare occasions
Oregon Mummy Eye-Bright green with orange eyes(Cornbreds ME and this ME compete for brightest, sometimes Meng's ME does aswell)
Cornbred's Bubble Gum Monster-Moderatly bright green with red eyes(white dots are sometimes seen on the eyes)
Tyree Bubble Gum Monster-It has a dark green base and the "bubbles" on the body are bright green with red eyes

I think I hit the "top" ones. Note that ALL of these colors vary shades and hues because they can easily morph. For example, I have an orange and green cornbred's bubble gum monster.

Colonies are in dt. Mine get med to high light and the flow is 60 x turn over in the tank
40 breeder about 8 to 10 inches below surface

Guess I'll just have to try different places in the tank and let them grow out more until they reveal their true colors. Thanks for all the help everyone.

I would say niether one is BGM. It may be Cornbreads bubblegum monster on the left or it may be emerald mummy eye. Its not Tyree Bubblegum monster. The one on the right in first pic is a mummy eye but not sure which one it is from that pic, probably the original Tyree, look for copper tones in the mummy eye in high light, thats what the original mummy eye does.

This thread is only making it worse for this poor guy. good luck.
I think my pics are a clear representation of what you should be looking for in the 2 corals. You are seeing them in person so you decide what you believe resembles the pics.
