Hello, i have had a mystery disease I’ve been trying to knock for a while now. I’ve decided to try methylene blue but wanted to know if it was compatible with antibiotics such as Furan, metro, and kana? Thank you

What are you dealing with? I would not mix MB with antibiotics. Can you upload pics?

You could use it as a bath separate of your tank with antibiotics. It's a mild antiseptic.

NFG contains both MB and 3 antibiotics. Since they are all powder form it's a safe combination.

Methylene blue and green are designed to be used as a "bath" not as a dosing agent in a QT.

I went ahead and just did a dip. No idea what I’m dealing with. Has been ongoing for around 2 months now. Initially thought it was velvet but never went away while in copper. I’ve been doing formalin dips and freshwater and that seems to be helping. I’m on day two of formalin dip. I went ahead and did the methylene bath and have antibiotics in QT.

I am stumped but it looks like it may be an infected area from a different affliction, such as ich or velvet based on the dots on the fish. Secondary infections are common after velvet or ich, particularly after treatment for them as the medications weaken the immune system (but give them a much better chance of actually surviving). It’s a double edged sword.

It looks similar to what I've seen bacterial wise post velvet affliction.

Do freshwater dips cause the spots to disappear?

No, they don’t. I’ve looked in the water after the dips for signs of flukes and I don’t see anything.

It's very possible you are dealing with a viral infection or "skin rash" which sometimes develops following copper exposure. Treating with Kanaplex + Metroplex sometimes clears it.

Good news, as of now all the spots are gone. Gonna be monitoring it closely for next few days.
