I've never seen a decent colony of this, just frags for the most part. Does this coral color up nice or does it stay just a dull kind of blue?

Well yes it does stay that steel blue color, but look at those pretty eyes. I don't regret ever buying mine. If you like it buy it.

Or by asking if its worth it, are you referring to as an investment for resale?

I talked to Greg Carrol about this at MACNA and he said that it has to grow out before it changes from the steel blue grey.

Its true, When it hits about 3"-4" in diameter, it starts to switch to a more green color :) Mine is just starting to switch. Its more of an aquagreen than the blue now. :)

on a scale of 1-10
10= very fast
5= medium
1= slow as a snail

what would one say the growth rate of a MH/PP be?

That's interesting. Mine is at the 2 inch plus mark and I thought it started to look like the color was changing a few weeks ago then it started to go back to the steel grey color but about 8 new eyes have developed since then.

I don't plan on fragging it for a few years so it will be sweet to see what it becomes.

When I got it about almost a year ago it was the size of an erasure head. The more it grows the faster the growth.

Darren, Its tough to tell from the photograph especially on the MH. The MH does not look like mine. The striations radiating out from the corralites are not on mine and the coralites themselves look larger. However, the coralites on mine will look like that immediately after I turn the lights on.

As to the ME (or is it the OME?), there are a lot of very similar corals out there. The one sold on ebay by Megret is spot on and I would have a tough time telling it apart from the true ME. I would stick to purchasing that one directly from the source unless I was very comfortable with the seller.
