Minimizing Sections on Main Page

Some of the sites I frequent allow you to wrap up sections on the home page. Would it be possible to implement that on here?

I use the main page when I'm browsing the site and currently all of the threads are below the fold because of the march madness and forum challenge sections.

Possible?
