Moving anemone

I pulled a RTA from my 65 and placed it in my 13.5 fluval. nice spot, lower flow and as close to the bottom as i could get (lots of par). It moved a few weeks later, didnt like its new spot, so moved back to where i originally placed it.... me thinking to myself "you think YOU know the best spot in the tank? I think not"

Funny but on the other side what type of lighting are you using on the smaller tank ? Different lights , different spectrum , different intensity, and with a shorter tank it would be different par . He moved for a reason . For health reasons I would make sure all the other water parameters were good as well as lowering the intensity of the light and bringing it up slowly to acclimate. You didn’t mention if you had rock or someplace for it to hide from direct light if that is the issue . Anemones tend to move where they feel comfortable whether it’s current , light , or even where they feel they are better set up to snag a meal . If you want a anemone in your tank to stay in place where you put it , they do sell nice plastic, rubbery ones at Walmart’s lol!, . Sorry I just had to throw that in !!! . Good luck

Do not force it. two things make an anemone move and hide:
Too much light and /or water flow. Too much flow and they will find a suitable location with less flow impact
Too much light and they will hide in a shaded area or crevice

Agreed. Anemones will always move to where they feel most comfortable

It came from the top of my 65g like 6-7in from the top running 2 vega (just upgraded to 3 hydra 26). Ive got 1 hydra 26 on the small tank Parameters are spot on, wish i could say the same for the 65, alk a tad low. Plenty of rock. Im aware that nems move and im pretty good at finding a spot they like on the 1st try. I just find it funny it moved just to move back

The nem didnt like its new spot so it moved back to where i had originally placed it. I havent touched it since it went in the tank. I could care less where it is in the tank, as long as its not hurting other coral, im just waiting for those dam clowns to get in there
