Where this tank sits in my house it feeds into my great room where we spend much of our time. This area acts like a horn for any sound. The tank although not noisy had a hum that I could hear in the room. So I made some changes to the plumbing.

I found a good use for that yoga mat! Slipped it under the sump.

I also built a new set of plumbing to use with silicone tubing. Gave ma a chance to line some plumbing up that I had mis-measured before. Plus it is pretty quiet now.

Yes there is water in the tank and it is cycling.........I took a ton of pictures of the aquascape on my bench. Mostly so I could go back and see what I liked and did not like. I did not feel like they were really worth posting. But I will share the pictures I took before and durring the tank filling!

So I am using a combination of dry sand, live sand, caribe rock, dry rock and will add some live rock to cycle that may or may not remain in the tank. The live rock is not in the tank at this moment. But the aquascape is good for now.....untill I look at it again!

Spent the weekend indoors due to snow.....spring in Colorado.

Made it a great time to install and set up my Apex system! So I have the Controller, PM2 module, breakout box, temp, salinity and PH probes. And the Energy Bar 8. I had an issue with installing the GFI behind the tank. So I Drilled between the walls and ran all of the power and probes into the storage room. I mounted the Apex system in between a set of rafters away from the under side of the tank.

Learning to set up the system was not to bad. I read the manual once and the quick set up guide once. Referenced some online help and **** its up and fuctional!

The tank has been wet now for a little over 2 weeks. I have a nice covering of brown alge growing. I do have some indicator corals in the tank now. A small batch of zenia in the sump along with some cheato, a small watermelon chalace and a devils hand. All are just fine. They all have their polyps out and are open everyday.

And a couple of shots of the sump with some indicator corals. They all are fully extended and happy now. The first brown algae bloom has come and gone in the display. Let the stocking begin!

Very nice. How have you like your AcroOptics? I found your thread via the AcroOptics forum and can't wait to see how the tank progresses.

sphack!

I found http://acrooptics.com/ by way of http://aqua-imports.com/ in boulder

This light is amazing! and it is built like no other light I have ever seen! I love dealing with Local companies and I will tell you Steve at Acro Optics is a great person.......When I was talking about purchasing his product he personally came to my house to look at my tank, discuss what I had planned to stock it with and how I was going to mount it. He took all of the measurements and when I made the purchase he built the mount and delivered all of the parts to my house!

He has been readily avalible for any question I have had.......I fact I am an engeneering tech and have had the priviledge of testing some of Acro Optics interfaces...........The new GUI is truly amazing and has a wide range of flexability. Wish I could say more or send a screenshot of the new GUI.....Maybe Steve will see this and chime in with some info!

I have done quite a bit of programing and it is nice to just drag and drop programs to the fixture.....like my acclimation program for new corals. I just drag it and drop it and off I go with no worries about burrning the new livestock! It also helps that my favorite store http://aqua-imports.com/ runs these lights on many of the tanks they have!

Anyway the light is like no other in terms of quality and service! USA made right here in Boulder county Colorado by people I have known for years. It just dosent get any better than that!

Enjoy your weekend!
