Been on here for a little bit now and figured it was time to post some pictures of my 180. I have been in saltwater for about 14 yrs but the last few years I took a much needed break and did my 180 as a planted FW tank. Well this past January I gave in and rebuilt the 180 back into saltwater. Once a freak always a freak ;)

Anyway I have always been a Halide user but took the plunge into DIY LEDs and BOY I have never seen colors in my corals and fish as I have with tese new lights. I am very happy with the switch.

Here are some pics of the tank as well as the lights. Not sure but the pics I took with my "good camera make it look much darker than it is. Still trying t figure out the settings and trying to keep the colors from looking so saturated like they do in pics with LEDs. I took some with my iPad too, you can tell the difference.

I recently had a tank crash back in January, with an overdose of kalk and then lost nearly everything from marine velvet. They started showing signs the day after the crash. Coincidence....I don't know but I did have three survivors and they came back from deaths door. They were the magnificent fox face, flame wrasse, and my moorish idol. I lost many more than the number that survived. :(. Inall my years in this hobby I have never experienced such a emotional journey with my tank. Things are back on track though, thank goodness. One thing I learned was never say never!

Stock list right now is:
Magnificent foxface
Flame wrasse
Moorish idol
Yellow tang
Sohal tang
Mandarin goby
And most recently a squareback Anthias
Various corals, anemones...etc, etc.

Anyway here ya go.

These are with my iPad Which tends to whiten it out more than what I see to the eye. I really need to figure out all these settings

Looks fantastic. I love the black sand look because the colors pop so much.
