I’ve had it now 8 months. Sebae maybe, heck don’t even know anymore. Had one split.

Doesn’t really get any bigger. Clowns play with it, but really, it’s small for them.

I used to try to feed them, but the food just flows away. Mostly brine shrimp as too small for small fish.

Thought of buying more. Mainly because these are boring.

They were mostly white when I got them. Can’t remember if they ever had purple tips.

Thought often of getting a much bigger one at the LFS next couple days, more colorful too.

I have a 75gal, two Penguin 350s, UV filter and fans. No other real issues except diatoms, which with a cut down of feeding and purigen, they are better. Pretty basic. Does get great light and flow.

Thoughts?

what lights do you have.. had to tell from the pics if the tips are colored or not

Extremely bleached BTA

Squirting mysis towards it a couple times a week should help regain health and color if conditions are met, stable params, good light.

Your clowns are a little big for it and probably not helping at this time, would be nice to block them from it if you can.

48” LED
  • LEDs: 54x 0.50W (2500 lumen)
  • Config: 37x 10000K, 9x Actinic 460nm, 4x Red 620nm, 4x Green 520nm
Now I say BTA...but could be Sebae too. Like I said, it’s always been white but there is a hint of pink on the end . Another reason now I’m interested in another color.

I squirt shrimp in there. Just blows away.

That isn't enough light for an anemone. You are slowly killing it.

Also when you feed you turn off all flow in the tank.

My 120g whixh is for feet has 2 kessil 360 at 60 percent power along with 4 t5 at 50watt each. They get most of their food from the light

Like a $700 light??

Says I need 350 watts or so (up to 5 watts per gallon) but I don’t see that offered in LED.

Certainly don’t want to drop $300+ for one or two aneome. I have no interest in corals.

$300 is hardly anything. I have $900ish over my 4 foot long tank. $300 would be a great spend on a tank half your size.

You could get away with $300 if you go generic black box chineese LEDs off amazon

Also that 5 watt per gallon is pretty much before LEDs

Goodness. For a $40 anemone? No other less expensive lights I can manage?
No way I can justify a $900 light.

Guess it’s not for me. Sadly.

You could go for a T5 light, Lot less then 900$ I have an ATI fixture & love mine.

Diatoms normally occur at the begin from nitrogen cycle or from RODI Water that isn’t 0 tds or from silicate .. anamones need a lot of light round the 400 par .. you could get a good Chinese 165 w quite cheap around 120 dollar for a WiFi one .. and you can grow almost anything with one of those !! I have 3 over my tank

Any links helpful.
3? I have a 75gal

How do you hang them. I admit, hate the salt creep on my current light that sits over the tank.

I have the glass tops off my tank, which evaporates like crazy, so I’m always splashing if I don’t refill in a few days.

Not real sure I’d hang from the ceiling.
