My 150g tank from SCA arrived today & looks great! I am so excited to be upgrading our 45g reef tank to this one. Within the next few months I will be buying my equipment, building a stand, building a 75g sump, reinforcing my existing floor & building a fish room in the basement where all of my filtration, qt tank & equipment will be. More photos and videos to come :)

@josvanmeer definitely following your build as well for inspiration!
Let me know if you have any questions, I went from a 40gal breeder to this new tank so very similar situation as yourself.

My tank is up and running now, fish are very happy.

I finished the framing for my stand today. My plan was to use 2x6s for the build but I had so many extra 2x4s it was financially logical. The 2x4s are fastened together with an excessive amount of 3 1/2 in screws. I believe this stand will be more than sufficient for the 150. Later this week I will be buying a 75g aquarium to convert into a sump :)

If youre doing a 75g sump, there wont be any room left under the stand for cables, ato, controllers etc. Im sure you have thought of that.
Also, I would not do the crossbrace in the middle so close to the overflow, I did that too and it makes tightening the bulkheads nearly impossible, moved it closer to the front or just take it out, it doesnt really serve a purpose to be honest. I would just add two more braces front to back right next to the back supports. That way nothing impedes you getting your hands in there for tightening.

My sump will be in the basement :) As for the crossbrace, I kind of thought that was overkill but it's a foot away from the bulkheads. Thank you for the info

I currently have an Ora mocha storm, Ora premium black snowflake, Ora neon dottyback, Ora canary blenny and a baby Biota yellow tang that I will be transferring. I would love more suggestions for fish if anybody has any. This will be a mixed reef tank but lps and softy in the beginning. Thank you all :)

I picked up my sump today! Well, when I'm done it will be a sump. I'll be ordering a 75g sump kit from exotic marine systems tomorrow and hopefully start building next week. Ill be running a roller mat with this system, most likely the clarisea sk5000. More to come soon :)
