My Dream Build 150

Started on the fish room today! The room is only 5x11, but will be more than enough for all of my equipment and qt tanks. Still need to do the ceiling and door but got the framing for the walls and the drywall done today. I also purchased and started some of the plumbing as well as installed an adjustable floor jack where needed for the tank. As always, much more to come.

Started the stand for the 75g sump today. It still needs a little more reinforcement and to be primed and painted. I will be installing the exotic marine systems sump kit in the 75 and ordering my return pump soon as well. Getting a little bit closer to the upgrade:)

Decided since I was building stands I might as well do so for some qt tanks. Stopped and grabbed a couple 20 longs while they were on sale for half price. Once again the stand isn't finished but there was too much glass in the garage so they are here for now. Might have to pick some paint colors for the block and drywall tomorrow

Following along to see where you take this. I just recently setup my SCA 150 and really love this tank. Easily one of if not the best tank I've owned. I recommend the tunze glass scraper, I ended up putting some light scratched in mine with a flipper.

I like where your build is going so far!

My 75g sump kit from Exotic Marine Systems arrived today! I will be waiting to build the sump until I have a skimmer and my return pump. I want to make sure everything fits with the rollermat before assembly. Ordering an Iwaki return pump next week and then the skimmer will follow shortly after. I will also start the fish room in a few weeks. More to come soon :)

I used the Exotic Marine Systems baffle kit under my current 75:

It's been running almost 5 years now with no problems!!

I'm envious of your fish room! If I had the space in my house, I'd be all over that!
Maybe if I moved the laundry machines out to the garage.... :p

Still waiting on my ammonia alert badges and copper power but I think I have everything I need to set up my 20g long qt tank this week. I am currently painting the backs and sides of the tanks black in hopes of less stress on the fish. More pics and updates soon :)

I'm still undecided if I should treat immediately or just observe and then treat if needed... I'm still pretty nervous about it all lol

I know what you mean. I’ve been at this for 10’years and have yet to quarantine a fish.... although I’ve probably lost just as many as survived. Haven’t yet had an outbreak of anything to wipe it all out, but this is my “forever” tank and want to do it right!

@CK00020 Our first few fish to enter the qt tanks will be a few Indian Ocean lyretail anthias. I also put a hold on a yellow eye kole tang as I know they are going to get pricey fast, the tang will be in a separate qt tank. Then there are several more planned :)
