Hi all, thanks for reading!

What are your thoughts on my KH (10.22) / Ca (460) / Mg (1467)?

I dose Kalk until I reach pH of 8.3 (never happens, too much Co2 in my house) / OR Alk of 10.25 / OR Ca of 525, and I dose Mg until the tank reaches 1375.

Are these numbers too high? In all my reading here, I thought that higher Alk / Ca / Mg was "OK" but now ATI has me second-guessing. "CRITICALLY HIGH"

If pH > 8.30 Then OFF
If Alk > 10.25 Then OFF
If Ca > 525 Then OFF
If Mg > 1375 Then OFF

Thanks so much for your thoughts!

ICP companies have their own opinions, and sometimes if you fall outside of them its a "critical" problem, even if no problem exists.

Your alk/calcium/mg numbers are fine.

I'd look to raise potassium, maybe partly by raising salinity. Id' back off on magnesium dosing (if any) if you raise salinity.

Thank you! I try to keep it at 1.026, and I see that (based on a calculator I just found) that my 33.82 PSU is 1.0255 so that's close. But it's interesting that they (and you) suggest higher.

What would you recommend increasing it to?

Thanks so much for your input! :)

No reason to not aim for 35 ppt = 1.0264, which is the worldwide ocean average. :)
