I figured i would share some of my leopard wrasse's as im very proud of them as they have been known to keep alive.

My Female melegaris i've had since august. So its safe to say im past the point where leopard are suppose to die. Eats everything. Nori, pellets, mysis..anything really. Very active fish.

Than around 3 months ago i saw a picture of a Potters leopard wrasse forsale at a LFS and tried jumping on it but they sold it out from under my nose. So since than i had been on the look out for one. and finally got one.
Love this fish, very colorful.
At first wouldn't eat anything i put in the tank, than finally took to eating NLS pellets.. and now eats mysis... I've had him for about 3 weeks now.

Wow, that female is gorgeous and very cool looking. I believe Brad just put in a pair of Leopards in his tank, check them out in the fish discussion.

Beautiful fish! I have seen such a variety of wrasse that I am always envious of those with large enough tanks to keep these happy and healthy. Keep up the photos for the rest of us :)

Very nice. I love leopards.

Thanks for stopping in brad and thanks for the comment. I have to agree with you i love leopards as well, they are really a stunning fish and its sad that they die so easily in the home aquarium as many should be able to enjoy this fish.

Beautiful fish indeed, I think I am gonna order one this weekend for sure!

see this is one of the things im very hesitant to do with this fish... i feel a lot better being able to see it eat and swim at a LFS than hoping for the best in shipping with this fish. Shipping is what causes them to die. so the less that its shipped the better.

But if you don't have a LFS such as me then you don't have a choice in the matter, if you want one you chance it. The only LFS I would buy fish from other than Petco "who only get's sixline Wrasses" is a 3 hour drive one way and they sell their fish for about double the price I can get them online for.

Very nice fish indeed. I have had my Potters Wrasse for almost 3 yrs (eats pellets and everything I throw in the tank, literally). Would love to add more but can't find any locally and it's too cold to ship this particular fish (IMO) so I'll have to wait. I also added a female leopard wrasse a couple of months ago. You'll have to check them out on my build thread. Hope they do as well for you as they have done for me.

Beautiful fish. Definitely on the top of my list of fish to get. Just make sure you don't have any aggressive fish in your tank if you are introducing these. I purchased a 5" one off of a reefer in Ohio that was getting out of the hobby. It was eating and everything when I got it; very healthy. I noticed my purple tang going after it when I fed the tank for about 3 days and then I noticed the leopard was coming out of the sand later and later in the day because every time he tried to swim around the purple tang would chase him. And then he literally stopped coming out and I could see in the sand under a rock with my flashlight where he was. I gave him another day and was ready to tear the rocks apart to get him out. I was checking for it the next night with a flashlight again and all I saw in that spot in the sand under the rocks was a pile of bristleworms feasting.... I realized after that I wanted to have some wrasses and other peaceful fish when I set up my 220 so I sold the Purple Tang.

Thats awesome. Yea any other leopard than the common one you see all the time is very hard to find around here too. I was lucky it took me 3 months of searching to find a potters. Thankfully a friend called me and spotted one.
Hopefully they do well for me too!
