Your tank is amazing! I am in the process of purchasing/gathering everything I need for the 150 that I am picking up in a few weeks.
At what point did you stop vacuuming your sandbed? I do a little bit each week on my 32, but I that is only because it is smaller and harder to keep balanced.

Thank you!!! I stopped vacuuming it when I started doing auto water changes using a DOS module. Probably about 2 1/2 years ago or so :)

Amazing colors and growth!

Any updates on your plans to add more ecm 42s to your system?

I’ve been dragging my feet, things seem to be growing great right now and I guess I don’t really NEED them. It’s likely to happen down the road sometime just maybe not soon at this point. Plus the Tunze powerhead started working again so the immediate need disappeared.

Wow, love the Einstein quote as well. This is the beginning of a long journey for me. Thanks for the inspiration!

Thank you! Enjoy the journey, it’s led me in places I never thought it would! :)

Love those yellows and orange pops!

Strange how those are glowing under your actinics!

Awesome update and a great setup for sure!

Thank you, it was like night and day when I changed over to the current bulb spread, it literally has blown me away. The coloration in the corals has changed significantly in the last few months, due in part to the lighting change (but not entirely because of it). I’ve been dosing iron daily recently and things are REALLY getting extra bright now. I’m sure my system was Iron limited. :)

Those corals are looking great.
Are those anthias really yellow?

Under the heavy actinic lighting they appear yellowish. The blue spectrum really washes out the look of their orange. Before I switched over the bulbs they look like normal Indian ocean lyretail females. The heavy blue spectrum with only the LED’s emulating a more whitish bulb has taken some getting used to, but it’s really changed the coloration of some of the corals in ways I hadn’t expected. It’s been a pretty interesting experiment, when it’s bulb change time again I think I am going to go with this same 50/50 mix of actinic and actinic plus.
