Ok well, some good news. I finally got around to getting this done today. I have been wanting to have a quick access resource, in case I needed to reprogram my fixtures in any sort of shuffle. I have also been asked by many people to share my Photon schedule. And here it is.

Mind you this is over my prop system, where I want just about as much light as I can get. If I were running them over a display, I'd dial the whites (channel 4) down to 50-65 max at the peak, for a bit bluer aesthetic.

Thanks Adam. How high are they above the water and how far under the water are the corals?

Ah yes. Definitely. good to know information

I keep them way higher than one would in most typical display setups. Roughly 24" off the water surface. Tanks are 12" deep.

Surprisingly short photoperiod. May have to try to mirror that in the future and just have the lights on when I’m home

Great info! Just curious, why did you choose to use Reef Breeders over other LED options?

All blues to 100, white 50 and red/green at 12.
The colours are soso.
Not very happy

I have just had great results with them. Simple as that. I really like the "board" style configuration over the "puck" style that many other popular fixtures use.

IME the height (a lot) off the surface makes a huge difference with these lights. I ran mine 17" off the surface with a 29" deep tank, corals at probably 12-15" deep. Full SPS with 400+PAR running like 58% blues/18% WGR. When running at a lower height I had some issues with corals sitting right below the white LED's.
I loved the POP I could create with the V2 for dawn / dusk.

Adam how many lights are you running
Also the size of the tank
I was chatting with Logan and he recommended 4 of the 48 inch lamps for a 4 foot by 8 foot system 16 inches water depth .
Thank You

Hey Adam. Any particular reason as to why you run such a short photo period?
I honestly didn't think it was lol. my peak is still all of 6-7 hours. maybe it s the old halide user in me but that's always been where I go with lighting as far as on/off time is concerned. ramp-ups and downs don't concern me quite so much over the prop system. I may drag it out over DT a little

Yeah that makes sense. Guess I didn’t take into consideration the fact that your full power that long. I only run full power for 3 hours. But mines a DT so my ramp up and down are basically unnoticeable. Only took me about an hour . Gonna be adding 2 t5s and will have each run for 6-8 hours overlapping for about 3-4 hours. That way there’s some sort of a ramp up and down with those as well. Don’t have the slow on of the MH/HPS with the t5s, so I gotta try something.

I have to admit I am seeing more and more threads about photons which means to me that more and more folks are using them! That's fantastic!

To any new users, how are they doing for you?

I love mine. I am using some blue+ and actinic+ t5 with mine though because I like the glow that it adds.

this is my second time around with these fixtures and my first time has some of the best color I’ve had before.

here’s a Walt Disney under my daylight setting (something like 100% blues and 40% whites with the t5 as well)

I'm new to these lights. To be honest, I am having a time getting them dialed in to get my acropora happy. (Good coIor) I am making slow adjustments, Will see how they do.
