So here is when my reefer got delivered - 7th July 2015
unpacking started on the 12th of july
cabinet got put togheter the next day
and the next day my skimmer and wavemakers arrived, using a vertex omega 180i skimmer and 2x vortech mp40wqd
fast forward to the 22nd and the tank was in place, needed to get a lifter as it wouldn't fit through my door and i live in a second floor apartment (yes the floor can support the tank's weight, i checked) you can see my nano in the reflection.
the project was postponed as we got new bathrooms put it and i didnt want to start a tank with all that dust around, i was also busy with work and studies so fast forward to the 11th of september and the plumbing started,
I decided to use pvc plumbing from my chiller feed pump (jebao dc-3000) and my main pump (jecod dct-4000) the hose tail first from left goes to my chiller (hailea hc-300a) second one is straight into the bulkhead on the tank, and the last one is from the chiller back into the sump ( got it on a closed loop so im not putting chilled water directly into the display, i can also set the flow rate so it's best for the chiller, without compromising flow in the display by just using one pump) between the hose tails i used silicone flex tubing as I'm worried about plasticisers used in normal pvc flex tubing leaching out into the tank. fast forward to the 28th of september and my lights arrived and got put into place, its an ATI Hybrid Powermodule, 8x80W t5 and 4x75W LED
25th of october and finally i had some water and rock in my tank, the rock had been "cooking" in a spare aquarium in my garage where i left it with just a circulation pump since mid july, when i first received the rock I rinsed it out in a bucket of ASW at 1.025, then let it soak in another bucket with ASW at about 45ppt for about 10 minutes to get rid of any hitchhikers, then it went into the "curing tank" with ASW at 1.025. Im using red sea live reef base in ocean white for sand.
