This is my little piece of reef, has been up for about 7 months now.

lighted by TEK 24" fixture
stock skimmer that i modded ( performs well)
bag of chemipure
JBJ ato
about 50 LBS of live rock
30 LBS of live sand
lots of eye candy

How long have you had it and what temp is your tank? I love those little guys!

i have had it for over 4 months, got it for 11 dollars at a LFS and thought it was a great deal. After it was already in my tank i read about it. My temps are constantly at 79 % and he seems fine since day one.

We just set up a Solana last weekend. Yours looks great. we can't wait to add livestock to ours. Hopefully it will look as good as yours:wink:

thank you Sara, things have grown quite a bit in there, and i have changed a lot but things are looking good, not as packed as it used to be because i finally started placing frags where i want them to be.

Thank you Dave and lisa. Just be patient, and keep up on water changes, its not hard at all to do maintance on this tank which i think its one of the main reasons i like it so much. good luck with your set up and post pictures of your progress.

That's a lot of nice looking frags that you have there. When they grow out a bit you're going to have to do a lot of pruning! Otherwise it will be sting city.

here are a few pictures of what i did, but basically i just did a mesh mod to the pump and drilled a few holes. The skimmer performs 10 times better, no reason to get another one for sure.
