My SPS & Clam Tank

I think I need more fish. I had to rehome 2 of the tangs because I was witnessing them irritate one of the brain corals.

Any suggestions? No tangs or foxface. Must be 100% reef safe.
This is my current stock:

  • Orange shoulder tang
  • Chromis x6
  • Lyretail x1
  • Royal gramma
  • Clownfish x2
  • Midas benny
  • Mandarin goby

Genicanthus?
Oo and tilefish
Love the "Japanese" angels! I had a Watanabei pair years ago they were great in my 120 euphyllia tank. I like the females better than the males but both are cool. The Swallow tails are pretty nice too. Decent sized fish but not huge or boisterous.

Thanks for the fish suggestions!

I have some new photos. It’s been several months since I’ve shown my brain coral collection.

One got blown into my acanthastrea, which is why it’s been on the right side of the tank.
I had a few fish pick on the other that didn’t make it. This was several months ago.

I have LED now. Did I update this thread with LED pics?

Also, have you noticed my orange shoulder tang finally transitioned?

I would get a flasher, fairy, leopard, mysteri, and possum wrasse. Maybe pick 3. Wrasses add color and movement if you don't want tangs.
Pyramid butterfly fish are typically reef safe and a larger tang alternative.

I won the “The Points & Says WOW Nice Efflo” growout contest.

Love your system bud! Beautiful! I just got my first big ish batch of acros yesterday. I'll be pumped if I get half the growth as your last grow out picture!

Thanks. I like flasher wrasses the most. I definitely want to add more lyretail and chromis fish in the future.

Thank you.

Where’d you get your acros from?

I got a radiant, exquisite and carpenter flasher wrasse in my 120 and they cruise around as a gang, super fun to watch. They will DESTROY a sheet of nori. Its like watching the piranha videos of discovery channel

Thank you.

Cultivated reef. I live about 15mins away so got to go in person and pic my actual frags out, which was cool. I have 3 or 4 and once I saw then actually puddling, I went and got 8 more.

Looking good, major congrats on the grow out win! Been following along and was kinda thinking you had it from a few months ago. Love the updated tank shots and new led look. You’ve really got a lot of coral diversity and they all seem to be doing well. I’ll double down on pryamid butterflies, Genicanthus angels, and reef safe wrasses as good fish to add. Bummer having to move your tangs. I’d be sad to see mine go!

So I gotta ask how are you liking the lights?
Best decision I’ve ever made!

It’s easer to clean the tank, take photos, feed the fish, and remove the powerheads.

I can now close the canopy. They used to open like a car hood 24/7 or else the T5 fixtures would overheat, reduce their intensity, or risk burning out the ballasts.

Most of the LED is directed into the tank instead of getting spilled out from the front and back.

The par is much higher with less wattage, and I can choose my exact spectrum. I can now have actinic dawn/dusk modes.

I wish I changed sooner!

That’s awesome! How’s their facility?

Good! Small business, nothing like WWC or the likes but great people who really care about providing quality product and service and a pretty good selection. Got a good assortment and all my frags were really good sized.

Glad you are pleased with the lights! I haven’t pulled the trigger. Still brainscrewing it.
