Congrats on your upgrade.
It seems that you have it all under control and been following pretty good.
Don't worry about scratches on your bottom piece of glass, it will happen no matter what.
I have some egg crate under where my rocks are as that kinda supports the rock better than on a smooth surface.
When you have your sump we can help with the plumbing but on the moment it's just guessing.
Try to get a ATO ASAP as it will help you to be stable on your salt level for a better cycle process.

I just picked up some rock from my friend- most are Fiji purples. I have another friend who is going to give me more rocks (probably regular, non purple ones). I can't wait to start designing my 'scape!

I have always like how the Fiji rook looks in a scape. In mine I have a couple of 12" sticks

I am not sure about mixing the two colors. I gotta see how it'd look. maybe I can put the regular ones hidden in the back or something, lol.

I hope to get some sticks!

Make sure you cure it before cycling it.

Great start! Also, think about getting a quarantine tank so you can have fish/inverts ready at the end of your cycle.

Following!

I have my 28 gal nanocube that I may leave up for a while as a quarantine tank. it's about 2 years old now. not sure if I want to go smaller and tuck the tank in my bedroom and out of the way though, lol.

Playing around with the rocks. Clearly I need more, lol. I got more to pick up from another friend this weekend. I like the purple a lot, but so far not liking the two colors meshed. need to play with it once I get the other rock. and I got about 20 lbs in my nano cube to move over too. hmm..

Just words for thought. Your purple rock, while popular, will likely, probably, bleach in your new tank cycle anyway.

Purple rock, if natural live rock, is rock saturated to a certain level with micro organisms only found in well established environments
