Out on vacation for two weeks and thankfully the tank survived with no fatalities. But due to too many algae pellets being dispensed by the auto-feeder it looked rather ratty:

FTS (Feb 2014): After a week or so of TLC it's looking a lot better: :)

what a genius idea! I have two nanos that could use a bit more flow. (tried an mp10 on its lowest setting, too much for all my shrimp). could you elaborate on how you did this?

also I saw you're using T5s and LEDs. what fixture are you using for your T5s? looks like you have some great growth!

The Hydor device comes with a number of different sized adapters to be attached to a pump. Just have to find the right hose diameter (press-fit is best so the unit doesn't blow off).

The T5 ballasts went 'poof' a few years ago, so the tank has been running with 100% LEDs for quite a while. The simple array consists of dimmable two channel 'complete spectrum' DIY LEDs to provide sufficient intensity and spectrum plus a few Ecoxotic Stunner Strips to provide T5-like diffused coverage:

As for growth, with a tank this small I try to restrict it while still providing proper conditions for color and overall good health.

Doesn't look like I can update the title of this thread to '7 Years', but here's the tank now:
