I have a 54g bowfront corner unit, so I'm curious what all of your suggestions might be for a tank center piece fish, I'm really only wanting to add one more fish as I think I have enough livestock. Maybe a filefish one day to use for aiptasia if a nudia doesn't help, but they aren't the best with corals.

- Clarky clown (I hate him I'm tryna catch and rehome, but he sucks)
- Lawnmower blenny
- Dottyback
- Diamond goby
- Damsel
- Handful of snails and hermits
- Pompom crab - haven't seen it in a while.
- Peppermint shrimp or something
- Sexy shrimp - haven't seen it in a while either.
- Tuxedo urchin
- Corals, I'm bad at the names but torch, hammer, flavia, goni, kenya tree, chalice? and others I can't name.

Suggestions? Someone who will get along with everyone and ultimately I want the clown gone. And reef safe.

Some kinda of anthia. They are bright and tend to swim open in the water column, they also tend to make other fish who are shy come out of hiding. And if you want more then one they school. But they can require frequent feeding, all that swimming makes em hungry.

Are the rocks open in the back so fish can swim around them? If so I would add a biota yellow tang. The tang police will probably site me for the suggestion lol. I've had one in a 36x22x22" tank for close to two years. It was an adult wild caught. A bit over a year ago I added a two spot bristletooth and they do very well in the tank.

EDIT: this is assuming the clarkii will be removed.

Whether you consider them a centerpiece fish is a matter of opinion but I got a striped fang blenny as one. Fang blennies are extremely peaceful with everything but other fang blennies and are very outgoing. Despite being peaceful, they're not easily bullied either. They're totally safe with corals and invertebrates, though I haven't tried with something as small as sexy shrimp. Though I suspect they're too big to be prey.

Yes I will have to get the clarkii removed before I consider a tang, I have always wanted them but they’re to be added last as they’re usually aggro towards new additions afterwards eh?

edit: yeah the rocks are open in the back lots of swim space. i just stacked em very haphazardly hahaha

I thought maybe the blue mandarins too they’re so pretty, peaceful and only require 30g, my LFS has them on for 49.99 CAD.

A baby biota would grow up with the other fish so may not turn aggressive. All of my tanks are peaceful but this one is exceptionally so.
The video is long so I apologize but it shows their behavior. This is how they act all day. There is a damsel and a sixline also.

I also have a recent video of my larger tank with 8 tangs including 3 biota and 1 wild caught yellow that shows how peaceful they can be. It's in the last page of my tank thread if you want to take a look.

the mandarins are very beautiful! but they do require a pod population to sustain them. just something to keep in mind. so if you are planning on getting one, work towards doing that before hand!

Please dont add a tang to this tank, its small to begin with but its dimensions are just not good for a tang, no where for it to swim
