hey guys, I have a few chalices that aren't as colorful as they should be and a miami hurricane colony thats 10x lighter than what it used to be when I first got it.

They are sitting on the sandbed of my 4'x2'x2' under 8x54w T5's with slr reflectors. Should I place the pieces higher? I generally thought they were getting too much light, thus the reason for the bleaching..

heres my params

sg- 1.026

temp- 76.5-79

alk- 10

cal- 460

mag- 1450

nitrate- 0

po4- 0.06

need some help here

if i had the dreaded black bug i think i would know, i have a ton of lps on the sandbed and none of them are receding/dying, all are nice and puffy.. just that a couple chalices need to be more colorful..

I dose BRS 2-part with mag, but the only thing I can think of is the high mag tech-m treatment I did a while back to kill off bryopsis. It worked, but my mag was around 1750 for a while.

All the chalices feed eagerly at night time, don't know what the problem is though.. maybe place them higher?

theres been some instances in peoples tanks where alot of their LPS start receding like crazy, and nothing to explain the loss besides little black bugs on the receding area of the skeleton... heard interceptor works on stopping the bugs though..
