Need help plumbing in my RO/DI

I have gone to H.depot and the local hardware store(also looked on BRS) to see how I can hook up my ro/di to the line the plumber plumbed in. It has a shut off valve and looks like it will take a 3/8" pipe... my question is how I go from a 3/8" pipe to the 1/4"(?) flexible hose that is on my ro/di unit.

Connector with 1/4 in tubing... you can see how it won't quite work;)

It would be nice if I could just find a threaded female connector with a 1/8"(?) nipple and be done with it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

HD and Lowes should have a 3/8"x1/4" John Guest speed fit adapter, I have purchased them there in the past. Buy a few inches or whatever of 3/8" tubing, install the adapter then your 1/4" tubing.
If you can't find that get a few inches of 3/8" copper tubing and a 3/8"x1/4" brass compression adapter and do the same. Copper or brass are fine on the tap water side of an RO or RO/DI, its only the treated water that is agressive where metal fittings should be avoided.

lowes or home depot will do it or you can change the valve from3/8 on one end and 3/4 on the other but an adaptor will do the job. they look like a metal coupling

for $3.49. I'm sure its a little less at HD and Lowes.

No need to complicate a simple situation by changing valves or adding other adapters.​
