Need help upgrading aio pump

I have a aquatop 40 aio tank and my pump started to fail so I upgraded to the sicce silent pump 2.0. When I went to set the pump up, the hose connecting to the nozzle is too small. What’s the best way to make this work?

The pump came with two of these adapters but they’re the same size.

How much too small? I used 1/2" hose on 5/8" ,5/8" hose - 3/4" etc barbs by heating the hose in hot water amd pushing it on. Silicone hose is easier than vinyl.

I tried warming up the 1/2' hose and it was tough getting it on the pump. The pumps not barbed unfortunately or else it would've been much easier.
