So I really need some help here with this stuff, I have insane algae growth going on in this aquarium and it’s been this way for like 2 months and keeps getting worse. Every single day I have to clean my glass and the next morning it’s completely covered again. I have 2 circulation pumps and a hygger gyre so my flow should be ok especially in the 29g. I dose all for reef and reef energy daily along with .1 of Elimi-np . Within the past week or so I’ve noticed my corals going down hill fast, my scan is no longer opening along with my Duncan doing the same thing, other corals like my favias are turning brown and from the look of it the algae is growing on top of my new toadstool leather. I’ve also noticed weird almost hair looking algae that I’ve also posted about and have found under my rocks. I should add I ran a test and my phosphate is fairly high, it’s seems to be around 1.0-2.0 when testing with api test kit. This makes some sense because recently my power was shut off and I lost all my fish other than my engineer goby so I’m assume it’s from over feeding which I have to address, I’ve also lost a lot of my clean up crew within the almost 8+ months I’ve had them so I have an order coming from reef cleaners tomorrow to get that back to a good number. Is there anything else I can do to help this issue? I do weekly water changes anywhere from 5-10g and I try to clean off my rocks and move my sand around everytime I do it. I should add I also lost all my shrimp when my power got shut off. I’ve added photos of all angry coral along with my frag rack that was completely clean 2 days ago when I added it to the tank and is now covered in algae. I’m not sure if it helps identify it but the algae is green under white and red under blue light it also rubs right off like it’s just dust? Idk it’s weird but absolutely any help is appreciated. I’d also like to add I’m running 2 hob filters, one is a coralife protein skimmer and hob full of filter floss and the other is a tidal 35 with chemi clean carbon and some other random media.

Api test kits usually aren't accurate. Grab yourself some salifert, red sea, or Hanna's to test water parameters.
Do you have a FTS?
What CUC members did you order?
What do your nitrates look like?

Nitrate between 20ppm and 40ppm (that’s why I’m dosing elimi and adds onto the over feeding thing so makes sense) and I got a pithos crab, a 30g snail only quick crew with nassarius, a bunch of dwarf cerith, some nerites, I got a strawberry conch too. I currently have 2-3 emerald crabs and like 7-8 hermit crabs then an assortment of Florida and dwarf cerith snails along with 2 turbo snails but nothing like what I had at first lol. And yeah I’m saving up for the Hanna test kit, unfortunately everytime I’m close something happens with this tank and I have to spend money to fix it again 😭

Take a water sample to your LFS and have them test it please. Without accurate numbers it will be very hard to try and advise what to do.

Are you using tap water to make salt water? Or are you topping off with tap water?

Kudos for RODI.

Demerits for LFS and API. Just ugh.
Yup I was pretty mad when I saw them pull out the api 😂 like for all that I’d just get the kit myself and fed however many times I want with the ****** kit rather than 2 feee tests and then I think $10 a test after that 😂. But the rodi water they provide made up for it a lil bit 😂

You shouldn't be dosing anything into a small tank with algae problems and light coral stocking. Just weekly water changes and lots of manual removal. Cut the white light. Just blue and uv only for 3 weeks.
? I have a mixed reef tank with 15+frags? I def need to dose and the white light is just to show the algae

I'm not sure if this post is about algae or your frags? If you need help for algae, please post a tank pics and pics of the algae so we can identify. How many fish are in the tank? How old is the tank?

What type of light do you have on the tank? API is terrible for phosphate, try to get salifert or hanna testers.

Agree with Mojo rising! Hanna is pricy, but you get what you pay for. Until you can get Hanna, get Salifert. They are inexpensive and very accurate. Pictures of the complete tank will definitely help.

A little of both really, I have a feeling they’re going hand in hand a little bit tbh, I added pics of the frag rack and toadstool to show the growth of the algae on both of them, I’ll post some full tank pics when I get home, I have a seperate post I made the other day about the other algae problem with a video but no one commented any help just yet, only fish is an engineer goby since all my other fish died, tank is 8+ months old and I use hygger marine one reef lights

here is a video of the other toe of I assume algae that I see growing under my rocks and on some of my frags that I’ve been worried about, that’s why I said I think they go hand in hand like my coral is upset by the algae? I’m not sure

That's GHA and will overtake the tank unless you deal with it quickly, either with manual removal or a big assortment of CUC. Even with a CUC, that GHA needs to be short, or they won't even touch it. 29g tank is not easy to keep stable. Water changes are your best friend now, very often and lots of manual removal.

Not with a small tank and small frags you dont. Your dosing is turbo charging your algae problems. Lightly stocked small tanks just need weekly water changes. As your corals really fill in then you might need minimal dosing.

Sorry acronym - Green Hair Algae. It has roots and will not just come out of the rocks. Lots of helpful info on removal here and elsewhere if you google it.
I’m not sure it is gha tbh, I can get it off the rocks by just squirting with my spot feeding syringe, and it’s brown
