Today when I got home my clam was 80% closed up. Should I worried?

My parameters are
Phosphate -0
Ammo-0
Nitrite-0
Nitrate-5 ppm
Ph-8.0
Ca-420
Salinity 1.025
Temp-79

did it fall over? did you check to see how the byssal threads look? any tank inhabitants that could push it over or force it off the rock cradle you have there? to your knowledge: any tank parameter swings?

No didn’t fall over. I took it out to inspected for any inverts or pyramid snails and I didn’t find anything. My nitrate was at 10ppm at one point but kept doing water changes every week to lower it. I do see the mantle hole is really open and it wasn’t open like that before

When did you get the clam? What do you have for lighting? Age and size of tank? Also, please provide pics under white light. In addition, what's your Mg and PO4 at?

In addition to above questions, what tank mates do you have in the tank?

Is it set on a flat rock? It doesn't look stable, looks like its in between 2 rocks?

What kind of lighting do you have and what intensity?

Nitrate of 10 is not the cause of this, its something else.

PO4 is at 0. And the I need to get a mg test. I’ll take a pic once’s I get home. The tank is almost a year old and I bought the clam about 2 months ago

I have 2 tangs and 2 pair of clown fish

It was on flat rock before. Just last night I put it on those 2 rocks. In case the flat rock had inverts

I have the ecotech radion

AquaForest Mg Pro has a good test kit. I used to run Salifert on my last go around, but I hear Aquaforest is good for Mag. It'll be what I get when my next tank goes Live and in Living Color!

Can’t tell anything with that pic, but looks like there was some growth, but not too much. When you moved it, was it attached to the rock?
No it wasn’t attach to the rock. Today it looks like it open up a little more then yesterday

looks to be iffy but hanging on. Clams dont have much issues unless something is off with the water quality as they can be sensitive with changes. Dont allow ammonia or nitrates levels to become elevated by doing water changes and also add occasional trace elements which helps with their survival.
Changes in temperature, oxygen, pH, and alk can make your clam fall down as will lack of light which is needed for photosynthesis as without proper light, most clams will starve.
A few numbers to keep in mind with them (ranges) :
Temperature not to exceed 80
Ca not to exceed 450-475
Ph not to exceed 8.3
Alk not to exceed 11
Salinity best at 1.025
Nitrate not to exceed 80
Moderate water flow
Good lighting

These are ranges and not absolute. There are many types of clams, and not all require the same lighting needs. It’s a myth that all clams need intense lighting.

I’m not worried about parameters here, although you should have some measurable PO4, preferably anything above 0.05 and I didn’t see alkalinity? Are you doing routine water changes and what’s your method for supplying Ca and alk? I see growth on the shell, so it looks like it was doing okay? Maybe a tang was nipping at it? Take a pic straight on towards the clam and not on an angle, it’s hard to make out the details. Give it a day or two and see if it rebounds. It should probably stay on the sand, so you’ll probably want to increase the light intensity a little to match its previous location. To increase PO4, just feed your fish a little more each day, which will make the clam and your corals happy.

Thank you. I check my ca today and it came out to 460 and alk at 10
