Ok I just finished my water change and changed to blue lights. Now We wait and see.

Check your Alk in a while to see what it is at. Hopefully everything will be alright, have faith.

Sorry, BBQing for the family. Yes, 20% water change. Reduce your lights/lighting schedule for a day or so to reduce stress. Stop adding alkalinity. Test alkalinity after water change. If still high, do another water change in a day or so.

Ideal DKH values at 8-9 tops.

Tested my alk. Still a little high but its getting there. Going to do another water change tomorrow. Also switching to a hanna checker for my alk as I have been getting very inconsistent results. Thanks for everything guys. Will keep you posted

Good to hear you're heading in the right direction! After you get it corrected, test your alkalinity every week. Hold it at 8-9dkh.

Hard to see the tissue. If there's tissue covering the skeleton, but thin, there's hope. If so, it will take some time, possibly a couple days to recover.

I will try to make some better pictures but from my eyes there is tissue covering the skeleton and he is extending his polyps just the tinniest bit

As long as their isn't any mucus discharge coming from the heads then theirs hope.

My coral has not been getting better. He seems worse. also my duncan coral joined him. They are both closed and dont want to open. Any other ideas?

What are you new water parameters after the initial adjustment? Did you go back to dosing alk?

No I did not dose alk after my alk is now at 9.5 and all other parameters are good

Assuming the dKH reading of 15 was accurate, you have now brought it down to 9.5. That’s good, but we are still talking about 2 (probably) massive swings in a relatively short period of time.

The coral is shocked, and it could be weeks before it recovers...if it does. Also, the PO4 level being high, when the other enviro parameters were fine, was probably no big deal. In a state of stress, though, it’s not going to help. Keep working to get your PO4 down as gently as possible.

I don’t know that only having the blue lights on is going to be of a great benefit. Can you bring the white back up but lower the overall intensity? Try not to make the corals make too many lifestyle changes.

In ecology, nothing good happens quickly. Bad things happen quickly for sure. Good things take some time.

I have brought up my lights and over the days all my sps has started to suffer. I finished my water change yesterday and all parameters except nitrates are in check. I will work on bringing them down. Do you think dipping the corals in coral rx would help?
