Aquasanrise Plus R60 or Photon 24-V2
Would need 3

The tank is 96x30x30 but no rock/coral are near the back or front. SPS corals are no more than 20” under water. The openings in the top of the aquarium is 25.5” x 18.5”

I am mainly after some dawn to dusk setting and controlling it with my phone locally, do not need remote.

If you want to control it via your phone then the Aquasanrise is the only way to go. The photon has its own hardware controller

After looking at them both the control does not matter. These 2 just seem to close to pick one over the other.

I have the aquasanrise and love it. The app is nice and very easy to program.

i just ordered the aquahelios r120, the v2 leaves shadows and from my research has a disco effect unless they are over 12"above water but i find that a dubious claim.

I am not sure about the Aquansanrise, but the Photon v2 can only be programmed in 1 hour intervals, and the transition between is pretty rough. It does not slowly ramp to the new settings, it just changes to them on the hour. I love my photon, but those are the downsides, the transition doesn't really matter much, but it may bother some people.
