I am wanting to start a nem only tank as a few of mine are starting to outgrow the current tank they are in.

I want to have a type of propagation tank so I can have as many as possible in there.

Here’s where things get tricky.

I live in an apartment so I can’t have a huge tank. Really around 40 gallons max. I was thinking about a 30 long with just some crushed coral and marinepure spheres but wanted to get some ideas from the community.

Tanks, lighting, stands, space saving ideas, and how to maximize my nem space would be appreciated!

I have a recently set up Innovative Marine Nuvo 30L that I am using as a BTA dominated tank. I can list off a few quick things I did to make it easier for myself.

  • I went bare bottom just to make cleaning a bit easier.
  • I am using an MP10 with a custom printed nem guard by @Evan West here on R2R.
  • Using Kessil a350 lights.
  • I am using a Seachem Matrix in my "sump" to add additional biological filtration.
  • I have a small refugium growing grape caulerpa.
  • I run an Aquamaxx HOB 1 skimmer.

I also have an anemone tank. Mine is an acrylic 20x20x8 AIO I ordered off eBay. I use black Hawaiian sand, some live rock, radion XR30 G3 Pro light (was running a Kessil but didn’t put out enough light), MP10 with nem guard from R2R member @EvanWest & MJ1200 Return Pump. I have around 30 anemones in the tank as of now. I do weekly 100% water changes & run filter floss/matrix/chemipure in the DIY media basket I made.
