This my 30x20x10 frag tank. Light is 13” over the water. Same schedule but ~50% of those intensities. There is some spill, but I prefer the uniformity due to the limited tank depth.

In the 36x24x24 I am a little lower at 10” because of the increased tank depth which allows more internal glass reflecting.

The way that the lens works on this light is a bit different than others. In a kessil or Radion, the led lenses spread the light out at a fairly high divergence angle. In the case of the radion the lenses are shaped to give a square/ rectangular footprint of light. But in these cases that high amount of spread also means that the light hits the internal glass at a high angle so a large amount transmits through the glass.
The Sky (and coral care as the sky uses a similar light diffusion panel “the Philips patent part”) has a light panel that captures the high angle light and redirects down into the tank. This means that more light is going down and less goes through the glass. I think this is why some people have commented that they have to clean the glass more often.
So what does this mean for the 40 breeder case? You could just hang it at 10-12” and have some light spill front to back. Hang it at 8” and put lower light corals on the left and right of the tank. If it was me, I would consider making a short panel out of something reflective and use it to bounce some of the light back into the tank.

I’ve had mine on my SPS dominant Reefer 350 for 8 months and they have been great. My only real complaints are the terrible LED ramping and the popping/cracking sound that accompanies every heat cycle.
I have noticed mine (4) crackling. Have you sent this to neptune? I’m wondering if I should note this being an issue.

also what settings are you running for SPS?

I have not mentioned it to Neptune. They must be aware of it at this point but I don’t think it’s much concern in most cases.

I run coral growth for 7 hours at 85% and a few hours of ramping on either end that is more blue.

For what it is worth if you haven't it wouldn't take but a minute to route them a ticket via the portal to note it. Having the lights since the middle of last year I've not encountered it. I've read a few posts here and there that some do.

Maybe worth in case they are keeping count. Never the less hope you are having a great weekend.

What size tank do,you have? Water depth? And SKY height off water.

I have a reefer 525xl. If I did 75% on coral growth my tank would be fried

Anyone want to share lighting settings? I’m currently running 4 over a 7ftx3ftx 2ft tall tank. Yea he “coral growth” seems to have a lot of white. I am not a blue-head but how much white is necessary for coral growth?

How high is your light from the 350? I just ordered a 350 and have on sky. Curious about running just one. Mostly soft coral.

Reefer 350. Sky are 10” above the water. I was at 85% coral growth most of the day. Just bumped up to 90%. Most acropora are about 6-8” under the water.

I find the noticeable ramping and the popping when warming up and cooling down disappointing. Pretty big hot spot in the center and drops off fast outside of a 26 inch or so length. This is at 8-9-10-11-12-13 inches above.

It's been said that there won't be a version 2 of these lights from Neptune in 5 years. Yes, there will be. Neptune is never stagnant.

I have read this a few times now and it cracks me up... Never stagnant? Really? I have enjoyed the 2016 controller and the Neptune and had no issues. I have had and read about issues with other peripherals from Neptune and had the same issues many years later-never fixed-stagnant.
