New elegance not doing well

Hi,

I got a new Elegance coral 2 weeks ago, which the stony part is about 2" wide.

It has been doing well, until yesterday when one half is still looking kinda good, but the other half is all shriveled up.

I'm feeding a small amount of Reef Roid every 3 days.

Nitrate is close to 0. Cannot test the other parameters yet as i'm currently waiting to receive my Hanna checkers.

I did another dip with Revive yesterday because I was concerned that there was some parasites, and I also noticed bubble algae on it.
I removed manually the bubble algae, and I also saw 2-3 very small white "worms" crawl out of it,
It does look a bit better today, but not like it was a couple days ago.

Is that anything to be concerned about?

Is the other coral in your tank doing well? Elegances like water a little dirtier sometimes, nitrate close to 0 may be an issue.

Yup everything else is doing great, including a new RBTA I got last week.

I'm in the process of tuning down my refugium light, as it's a bit too productive, to say the least.

I just tested and nitrates are still at 0, so I'll bring the power down again.

So my elegance is still getting worse.

It's still shriveled up, and tissue connected to the shell is starting to get white.

I put it on the sand, in a rock's shadow.

Phosphate is a 0.08, calcium 410, alk 6.7dkh.

I've avoided feeding it again with Reef roids for the moment.

Everything else is happy.

Is there anything to do to improve things??

I think your alk is low, mines at 10.If you ever watch ACI videos,they've been dipping damaged corals in a dip made up with chemiclean...Try looking up dips with chemiclean.It does something to bacteria/bacteria infection? I think.If your water is good they can make a comeback.

Agree the alk is a bit low at 6.8. I would bring it up above 7.5 and possibly increase your nitrates.

I noticed that my cleaner shrimps are sometimes picking at it, and also saw my foxface nibbling it gently a couple times. They really don't seem particularly agressive about it though.

Could that be a cause of its declining health, or rather a symptom?

I'd start raising your ALK first.I feed mine 1/8 to 1/4in piece of raw shrimp once a week some time twice a week. Make sure your shrimp are well fed. I had a cleaner shrimp tear the mouth right out of a neon green Acanthrophyllia meat coral..The coral did die..It made me sick. And thats back when they were 60$....After that I started hand feeding raw shrimp to the cleaner shrimp first.
