@Jay Hemdal since I have replaced the live rock and sand couldn’t I technically use Prazi pro again since most of the old bactiera is gone or should still do api general cure?

Prazipro and General Cure (GC) both contain praziquantel, at about the same dose. GC also contains metronidazole (that isn't safe for invertebrates) but it does have that added medication to cover some other issues. I'd opt to continue with the GC. Prazipro has a solvent that can cause reduced oxygen levels as bacteria degrades that more than the prazi itself. If you use Prazipro, be sure to add extra aeration.

Agreed since inverts are still in qt it’s best to use general cure

@Jay Hemdal @vetteguy53081 puffers are still swimming up and down after first course of general cure. When it started treatment first 24 hours seemed an improvement now they are back to their erratic behavior swimming up and down. Should just do Prazi pro at this point?

You want to do three treatment with general cure spaced apart and it takes the medication 2 days to start taking effect

@Jay Hemdal is the Hannah checker reliable once copper levels are around 0.20ppm or is it too low to detect at that level and give false readings?? I guess the best way to find out is if the cuprisorb and poly pads are no longer turning blue is the main way to know if there’s little to no copper levels left

You should get a reasonable reading at down to about .25 ppm.

The Hanna HR is outside its range at lower levels, below about 0.10. It will give you spurious readings. However, a zero reading indicates no copper. Its accuracy is 0.5 ppm

What I do is try to infer the copper level. If I get a reading of 0.25 and I do a 50% water change, I know my copper will be around 0.125

They have a Hanna low range checker also, but it’s literature doesn’t say it works in seawater.

@Jay Hemdal there is a new product called fritz Prazicleanse it is probably now the best option for treating flukes because it has the same high dosage but in powder form not liquid making it much more effective and stable is this now the way to go?

@Jay Hemdal as well looking at the instructions Fritz Prazicleanse is much more cheaper then API general cure you litteraly only need one 20 pack box to do 2 courses 1 packet is for 20 gallons of water compared to general cure which is 1 packet for 10 gallons that 2x less than amount you have to use which saves you much more money as well

@vetteguy53081 i think FritzPrazicleanse is now the best option on the market for treating flukes it’s completely reef safe and has the same higher dosage rates as Prazi pro but in powder form which makes it much more stable and last longer in established tanks. Much cheaper then general cure as well one packet litteraly treats 20 gallons compared to general cures 10

I think Prazipro is less expensive than Praziclean. I’ve not compared GC to that because it is different, since it also contains metronidazole. Any of these three products work.

Prazi has to be well diluted and PraziPro has safe concentration while lower in cost

@Jay Hemdal yes Prazi pro is less expensive but for Prazicleanse for it to be in pure powder form makes it’s more worth it and more effective

They are both equally effective, but each has specific drawbacks; Prazipro uses a solvent to disperse the praziquantel in the water. That solvent adds to nutrient loading. Prazicleanse needs to be dispersed carefully, else it clumps up. I use pantyhose or a baby brine shrimp net to express it into the water.

Trouble is, each unit is only 15 watts, and I doubt those can reach a kill dose for any free swimming theronts, even by slowing the flow rate way down.
