Agreed since inverts are still in qt it’s best to use general curePrazipro and General Cure (GC) both contain praziquantel, at about the same dose. GC also contains metronidazole (that isn't safe for invertebrates) but it does have that added medication to cover some other issues. I'd opt to continue with the GC. Prazipro has a solvent that can cause reduced oxygen levels as bacteria degrades that more than the prazi itself. If you use Prazipro, be sure to add extra aeration.
@Jay Hemdal @vetteguy53081 puffers are still swimming up and down after first course of general cure. When it started treatment first 24 hours seemed an improvement now they are back to their erratic behavior swimming up and down. Should just do Prazi pro at this point?Agreed since inverts are still in qt it’s best to use general cure
You want to do three treatment with general cure spaced apart and it takes the medication 2 days to start taking effect@Jay Hemdal @vetteguy53081 puffers are still swimming up and down after first course of general cure. @vetteguy53081 will do a second course tomorrow for another 48 hours. That will be 4 days total
Sorry, I don’t know of anything specific to General Cure that would cause this…..
@Jay Hemdal is the Hannah checker reliable once copper levels are around 0.20ppm or is it too low to detect at that level and give false readings?? I guess the best way to find out is if the cuprisorb and poly pads are no longer turning blue is the main way to know if there’s little to no copper levels left
@Jay Hemdal there is a new product called fritz Prazicleanse it is probably now the best option for treating flukes because it has the same high dosage but in powder form not liquid making it much more effective and stable is this now the way to go?
Prazi has to be well diluted and PraziPro has safe concentration while lower in cost@vetteguy53081 i think FritzPrazicleanse is now the best option on the market for treating flukes it’s completely reef safe and has the same higher dosage rates as Prazi pro but in powder form which makes it much more stable and last longer in established tanks. Much cheaper then general cure as well one packet litteraly treats 20 gallons compared to general cures 10
@Jay Hemdal yes Prazi pro is less expensive but for Prazicleanse for it to be in pure powder form makes it’s more worth it and more effective
@Jay Hemdal would two of these 15 watt aqua advantage hob with 150gph pump flow rate each be good for controlling and managing ich? It would be 30 watts total then and 150gph flow rate pump each separately. Here is the link..
