One thing to consider is that you may not need or want to perform the 9 tests. If you are going to raise stony coral, measuring alkalinity and calcium will be important to you. There is mixed opinion about accuracy and ease of screwing up the Hanna calcium test. The alkalinity test might not be as accurate as a titration method. In both cases, these concerns are unlikely going to result in you killing your coral. The phosphate test is generally held in high regard. The high range nitrate test is useful and likely to be as accurate but easier to use than any other nitrate test. The low range nitrate test while being a very good test might be avoided by everyone on the planet because of the number of steps involved. Most folks are irritated by the cost per Hanna test.Has anyone tried the Hannah 9-in-1 tester? I’m pretty sure it’s still relatively new but it’s peaking my interest. I’d definitely splurge and spend the money on it if it was dependable and could help save time.
