I'm curious as to how you have the system automated. I understand that you have a float switch inside the RODI tank which once it's triggered to float it triggers an electric switch to stop water from going to the RODI Unit?
There is a device on the RODI unit I bought that senses back pressure on the line and once the float valve shuts off the flow of water the pressure builds up and triggers the device to shut the RODI unit off. Once the RODI unit shuts off the pump also shuts off because it has a sensor also, (not sure how that one works, but it does).

I have a simple portable RO system that I use to make saltwater. The issue is that after I make enough water in a 50 trash can, I stop the process. I am told that I need to store the RO filter a special way or it will get contaminated, etc. If you have a temporary RO filter that you used like this, is that a special way to store the RO membrane? Thanks.

This is what you want to get drinking water before the DI.

You just buy a "kit" to add to your system. Here is one from BRS that includes the pump.
