Hi everyone! I hope this is the right location for posting this, but I’m looking for some advice on what to turn this tank into!

The tank is a 30 gallon half moon tank. I currently have a 75 reef and recently set up a tank for a mantis shrimp. This was just more of an unexpected gift so I had no plans for it.

I was talking to some people at my LFS and they were saying I could go with an aggressive reef tank, an anemone tank, macro algae tank, or maybe even a seahorse tank. I’m open to any and all suggestions. I definitely want to turn it into something cool especially with its unique shape.

I’m not sure if this helps, but the tank is 27” tall and the radius is 13”.

Thank you for any help or suggestions!

Of course it all depends on what you like but I think it would make an awesome seahorse tank.

I do like the idea of seahorses, but I’ve heard they’re a bit more difficult just because they can’t miss a feeding. Not sure how true that is. I’m definitely doing some research on them though!

I really like the idea of a smaller puffer fish too, but I think it’ll outgrow this tank.

Very interesting and unusual tank! I imagine that if you plan to keep only anemones, you’ll need a fairly powerful light. A seahorse-only setup would also be a great idea!

I have a smaller scale tank as well (hexagon though). should look at doing some sort of Zoa wall. it'd give you some pretty cool depth. Maybe look at taking some base rock, and sawing it flat and thin, so you can adhere it to the back wall. I cant imagine it'd take super long to fill with zoa / paly with the right parameters !

dwarf pea puffers only for that little tank.

This is really way more up to you. I'd probably start browsing tank pics and see what lures you in.... You can then move forward

ARE YOU READY TO CONFESS TO CRAZIEST, DUMBEST, FUNNIEST THING YOU’VE EVER DONE IN REEFING?
