All kinds of fun stuff happening here!
Looks dull and boring from far but I've been enjoying using the magnifying glass to find all the tiny critters. We started out by accidentally bringing home a Cone Shell Hermit crab inside this Auger shell, threw him in a bucket of water with a nice algae coated rock and thought we'd only keep him for a day or two...
Then we found this seahorse right on the shoreline in the dirty boat harbor, and an hour later we were on the way home from the pet store with this 10gal tank.
We scuba dive for a living so acquiring fresh rocks is pretty easy and yields great results! It's also easy to walk down to the water and catch these little shrimp guys to feed Seabiscuit the seahorse (Cece for short).
In the photos included you can see some of the different types of shrimp, hermit crabs small and large, Cece being camera shy, a fireworm, and a fried egg nudibranch!!
PSA: Not trying to keep anything long term - running an experiment of the observational/educational type and everything will be returned to the wild afterwards.
And incase you were worried at all - coral heads are 'dead' (but covered in other life) & no lava rocks!
