New tilefish, new flukes?

I do see the flashing and heavy breathing associated wuth flukes, GC has a very low content of prazi and most effective will be PraziPro itself dosed at 85% of recommended dosage and allow it to work for 8 days, change water and apply one more application lasting 8 days and do add an air stone as Prazi lowers both oxygen and appetite which may be the case or part of it

@Jay Hemdal it’s hilarious they think it’s flukes after multiple prazi treatments and even hypo that would not be possible. Unless there qt has been constantly running and the bactiera was consuming the prazi.

It takes 2-3 days to start to take effect and yes will last a period of 8 days unlike suggested with bottle as the active ingredient, praziquantel doesn't degrade in the water, allowing it remain effective for that period of 7-8 days unless removed by water changes

I'd really appreciate it if you could start a separate thread to discuss your theories. Flukes are still a possibility because I had to shorten the hypo treatment to 19 days instead of completing the full 30 days. I'm already working with Jay, Humble and Dierks on this particular fish, and they've all been very helpful.

There are already a lot of different expert opinions to sort through, so I'd prefer to keep this thread focused on their guidance. Thank you for understanding.

@vetteguy53081 read the last part.. but no more than once every 3 to 5 days.. why would you dose again in 3 to 5 days if your saying it last 8 days when it doesn’t that’s an overdose.

No more than once every 3-5 days, we dont recommend 3 or 5 days. We recommend after initial dose, a water change on day 8 and one more application

I think the wound looks a little better today and seems slightly flatter. He's most likely going to end up with one eye, since it looks like the middle of his eye is gone now that I was able to get a better look, but I love him no matter what.

Now, I've no idea if it was the cipro or erythromycin that's helped here, so I'm just going to finish both meds and not change anything, as long as he's looking a bit better each day.

A little improved here. I have a bangaii with one eye over 2 years and behaves normal

With all due respect, you've been giving advice this entire time without knowing the full context because you never bothered to read the whole thread. Once again, you missed that I only did hypo for 19 days instead of the recommended 30-35 days, so it's possible some flukes still got through. Thank you, but I'll rely on fish disease experts for advice like this.

Once again you already did praziquantal along with hyposalinity and freshwater dips. You don’t have flukes. Instead now all your doing is stressing your fish out more putting them through hyposalinity again with more freshwater dips.. great idea
