New tilefish, new flukes?

Per Humble's instructions: 250 mg/g of Cipro in a 1-2h bath (so far I've done around 1.5h each time), combined with 1 ml/g of 1% methylene blue.

For API Erythromycin, I used slightly less than one packet since my quarantine tank holds about 9g of water and each packet treats 10g.

I really hate auto correct. Seems like, as the years go by, autocorrect gets dumber! Haha.

Either way Cipro bath sounds about right. And Methlene does have healing properties. Sadly this eye is probably not going to make it. And even if it does it might not be a useful one. But fish do surprise me at times with healing capabilities.

As for erythromycin I’m guessing you’re doing a QT tank for multiple days? Personally I don’t like the api stuff. Have it and have yet to used it. Only brought it, being it’s all I could get when I was I need of erythromycin. It has sodium chloride as a 80% filler think and silica. Maracyn by Fritz is 35% erythromycin. Unless you can source pure erythromycin. It’s what I have now.

But if it’s working keep it up. No reason to change.
Thank you. I'm not expecting him to keep his eye, but that's okay. He'll get lots of extra love either way.

Unfortunately, here in Canada it's pretty much impossible to get antibiotics. I was lucky enough to stock up on a bunch of meds months ago, as they took forever to arrive. I also got lucky with Cipro and was able to buy some from a local reefer on Facebook. I had actually sold them General Cure before to treat his own fish. Unfortunately I have no way of getting Maracyn or most other antibiotics within any reasonable time. The only available vet I could find who sometimes treats fish said they'd get back to me last week, but who knows when that'll be.

Update: He completely freaked out out of nowhere and started flashing against the sand bed (perhaps trying to scratch himself), reopening his wound. I noticed it was bleeding with some heavy breathing.

I immediately moved him into a bucket with some methylene blue so he can't hurt himself anymore and plan on completely removing the sand if he's still with us in the next hour, but this might be it. I don't know what else I can do for him at this point (but let me know if you have any ideas), what a stupid accident... 😢

There comes a point where clove sadly will be the best thing. Clove drops will put the fish to rest in a peaceful way.

The fact is bacteria took a hold in such a way this fish sadly will need a miracle to make it.

I know, I do have some ready. For now, he's alive and was fighting me trying to pick him up and move to another bucket with some fresh SW and MB, so I'm not giving up on him.

Thank you to everyone who helped in this thread. He fought so hard the entire time. Honestly, he was very sick since I got him and should've been gone a long time ago, but he held on until the very last second.

I was able to do a FW dip and he was clear of flukes, so I guess that's at least some good news.

I also got inspired by @AstroMelly idea. Since I originally named them Jelly and Bean, Jelly has now become JellyBean. 😢

To end the thread on a positive note, this is a picture of beautiful Bean and a beach day with Jelly and Bean. They look so comfy together! There are no better fish than tilefish ❤️
