Hello everyone,
No stranger to the hobby but have been fish free for last several years. Just purchased a 185 corner and now looking for some tips as I have been out of the game for a bit. I have kept Salt, Reef, Africans, SA Cichlids, Designer Goldies. Pretty much everything. Now getting back into FOWLR but have noticed the new technology available. Going to have some questions about things here and there. 1st one I have is filtration and lighting. Anyone care to offer some advice?

If you want to brush up on the changes since you left, I highly recommend the BRSTV videos on you tube, specifically the 52 weeks of reefing series. They’ve put out tons of videos in the last couple years that will bring you up to speed quickly.

Welcome to R2R !

For a fowlr tank i would just use a simple sump and lights. Lights are a big deal once you are in a reef tank for corals.

I'm also gonna do polyps, anemone, dusters so maybe a lil more tha FOWLR. I'm just undecided between Trigger and Eshopps. Also leaning heavily towards Loop Marine BT System.
