As for filtration, you can start simple and work up with the sump. I am a big fan of DIY 40 breeder sumps and with FOWLR setups you can go simple, but leave room for growth when you decide to make it a mixed reef.

This area may also give you some ideas for what options you have, all tanks in the link are 180-399 gallons and I think there are a few large corner build threads in that area as well.
