Newbie here with 3 month old smart biocube jr 14g. I have 2 clownfish, a pink streaked wrasses, and a citron clown goby. Almost got my phosphate problem under control from polluted rodi water.
Reef show a week away. Was planning on stocking my coral. Need advise on how much and what types I should add? Also placement guidance in my tank

As far as far type goes that's a personal decision on what you like and how much work you want to put in with testing and keeping up on parameters. Most people tend to start of with softies because they are normally easier to keep. Lighting can also be a factor on which type will do best. Some coral grow in low light others like many SPS require more intense lighting. What ever you choose I would buy less expensive coral until you get the hang of things.

I would start with some cheaper and easier corals. The number doesn’t really matter, but I wouldn’t go too crazy given that these are the first corals in the tank. Most softies would be fine. Some, like gsp, can take over your rock work. Duncans and trumpet corals are good starter LPS. The only SPS I would consider would be the easier ones like leptos, pavona, or cyphastrea. At the end of the day, it’s what you like and want. Depending on what you get, will determine the placement.

You are a little overstocked on fish. Even two clowns are almost pushing it in a 14g let alone the wrasse and goby.

Personally, I would remove the wrasse and goby; you are going to have issues later down the road with aggression and overstocking.

As far as corals go, start with easier ones. Mushrooms, zoas, toadstools, duncans, Gsp (although this can spread quickly)

For me I have found that LPS prefer “dirtier” water, so if you have higher nitrates and phosphates I would recommend LPS, such as candy cane/trumpet corals, blastomussas, acans maybe, possibly a hammer. As for softies, a leather and/or toadstool, zoas, and gsp/xenia. For the gsp, if you don’t want super crazy growth, I would recommend branching gsp if you can find it. Very slower growth. Xenia will just grow ridiculously fast.
Here is a picture of the growth of my branching gsp in 9 months time

Very nice! I'll surely look for one of those!
Any recommendations as far as placing coral in. tank?

LPS usually prefer lower to medium lighting, zoas can be anywhere but usually are better lower down, branching GSP should be lower so it has room to grow. For SPS, usually it is higher lighting. Toadstools and leathers prefer medium to high lighting, and Xenia would be where gsp would grow.
