NOTE: If this pump is out of stock, you can use the Marineland Maxi-Jet 1200 Pro Power Head instead.

MJ 1200 should be fine and you might just be able to use the RFG with it.

It’s a pretty common upgrade, but people run into flow issues. To give you an idea of how old this tank is, look at the date on these posts!

it does seem to be VERY common to use these pumps, so people are getting them to work. Will be very interested to see the results, but from first hand experience I know I’ve struggled to keep the water from overflowing the basket just with the stock returns. I have drilled at least 20 extra holes in the InTank basket to get more flow through it.

If you had gotten the replacement pumps I sent you, they would have shipped out with new elbows and tubes!

but for an idea: Autozone would be able to get you some replacement tubing, maybe the elbows too. If not there, then for sure Home Depot or Lowe’s. Ace Hardware would have everything as well, just whatever is closest/easiest for you.

I'm not sure they are original. They looked like they just fit and no clamp or anything. Can you confirm that's how they fit

Wouldn't hurt to throw some clamps on the fittings. Preferably, nylon/plastic ones like below, in the appropriate diameter size.
