Mobile version is when you're on your phone/tablet, and logged into the forum using a browser e.g. Safari, Chrome, Edge.

Also I just checked your preferences and you have the option to subscribe to a thread turned off. That's why you're getting no notifications. I just selected that for you with emails.

Yes. That's recent. Too many emails.

What kind of notifications are you not getting?

You do know that if you get notified, via email that one of your watched threads was posted in and you do not visit the thread then you will not get another notification again until you visit the thread?

Is this what you're talking about?

During the course of a day, a convo will continue but I won't get notification of alerts on the site itself. I don't check the email as the browser is usually open.

Not a huge cause of concern to me.

I did not know about a subscription being lost if the email was ignored.

I've been using the mobile site all day and it seems to be working. I just wish there was a way to get push notifications. I might just set up a separate email account to send alerts to since I get push notifications for emails on my phone.

I have noticed new issues today - not getting alerts from some of the threads I'm watching, like the wrasse ID thread. I tried unwatching and watching again, but when I go to watch it I only have the option to watch with emails or without emails, no options for alerts. I've also tried to watch new threads and sometimes there's alert options and sometimes not. I don't want emails, just alerts.

Just to be sure, I would double-check everything in your Alert Preferences first: https://www.reef2reef.com/account/alert-preferences

Also look at your Browsing Preferences here: https://www.reef2reef.com/account/preferences

You can uncheck "and receive email notifications" for all categories.

With that last one, look in the upper right for "Manage Watched Threads". The drop-down menu gives you the option of disabling all email notifications.

^And one more subtle point about this software and thread alerts:

If you get an alert on a watched thread, you will not get another alert on that same thread until you view the thread again.
