Looking in my tank I was wondering where to put two acantho that are both 5+ inches

That bottom front left corner can be freed up. If I move those magnetic frag shelves…it reveals a random rock! Covered in gsp and gsp mat covering the sand 9AD57310-B70A-4565-9C93-3F93888FE61C.jpeg

What’s behind the rock? Changing angles and looking downwards we see…nothing! Wasted space! The rock isn’t even structural to my aquascape. It’s easily removable! Perfect !

If I sell this gsp rock to the LFS and suddenly I have a whole corner of real estate for these two guys, in low-med flow and low lighting. Perfect I think!

Let’s replace literally the most common coral in the hobby with something that has a little more…individuality :)

Seems like you have a nice lower par spot for them. Put em right beside each other. Definitely loose the GSP lol. Pain in the butt anyways.

What is that coral to the right? Some sort of chalice? Be careful if it is with your precious new purchase. Would suck if it started stinging things. Better yet, I’d try to epoxy it to the back glass (that’s what I did with my chalice anyways)

It’s giant lakers scroll coral. It’s harmless and has no stingers, doesn’t even feel slimy. It’s dry like touching a chalkboard. Grew this from a 1” frag and I can probably move it. if I had to. I could get rid of these two palythoa rocks to the right of my overflow, and put it there

Very nice looking coral otherwise.

And you see, this is why I shouldn't be allowed to browse... Just rekindled an old obsession of mine with LTAs.

Someone was just posting about sps and i dug out a pic of a sunrise millie I used to have. And looked at the pics of it growing in my tank and instantly thought to myself…I should get another

Man I wish I could keep millies again. It's been over a year since I've been able to keep acros or montis alive, no clue what gives. I got a brown import millie years ago that turned orange within weeks, lost it in a crash.

As much as I liked having sps reef…I like my lps reef more. I like BIG corals with BIG polyps and BIG mouths, bright colors and I enjoy watching them eat. With sps it was like let me pour this neon yellow liquid in and hopefully it does something.

Yeah I’m the same with SPS. I do have a few pieces, but I honestly keep them as water quality indicators now .
I also like the reaction of feeding the corals and movement along with the colour. And most importantly how much more forgiving LPS are compared to SPS.

My wife always says “what’s the point of those stick things??” lol. She loves her acantho also.

What SPS does everyone have in their Acantho/cynarina systems right now? I’m gonna make a vid later of what I have in that department for the heck of it. I think I do have more than a few in this system haha

I need to get my new tank setup lol I have no room for these monsters

My acantho’s should arrive Wednesday
No kidding , never enough room lol.
I foresee selling a bottom of other bottom dwelling corals to make more room for acanthos and also cynarinas.
