One click tip for better phone camera pics

Hi all! I am NOT a photographer, not even in the hobby sense. The "pro" mode settings on my galaxy s9 make my head spin, and when I try to make adjustments I usually just end up taking worse photos.

So what I had been doing was using auto mode which always has way too much blue, and then trying to edit the pics with various apps. They work OK, but still more often than not do not leave me with natural looking colors.

Tonight I went into pro mode and made one simple adjustment just for giggles, I changed the White Balance to "cloudy" setting which shows as 6500k I believe and did some comparison shots. The results are good enough for me to get decent shots to show friends, etc.. Not winning any awards but that isn't my goal. My goal was simply less blue washed pictures for my own enjoyment.

Hopefully others could use this info, and maybe even share some of your simple ideas for us non shutter bugs!

A few comparisons... No real flair to these particular shots, just auto mode VS pro with WB adjustment.

Another great tip is to go to a photography store either in person or online and purchase a gel filter swatch book. Like a paint swatch it’ll have small pieces of gel filters in every color that the company produces larger sheets of. The swatch usually costs a few dollars ($2-$4 typically). It’ll have about 5-6 different orange or yellow filters.

You can hold them in front of the camera and it really improves the shots. Plus, the great benefit is that it has various shades, so if your lights have an automatic light schedule you can pick the one that makes the photos look the best at any particular time.

Try this
Camera settings on Galaxy

1) Set camera to Pro mode
2) Set the Appratur to 1/90
3)Set the ISO to 50
4)WB to 10000k
5)Use Auto focus

WB to 10,000k
Aperture 1/125 (or higher if possible)
ISO 100-400 depending on how intense the lighting is ("brighter" tank, lower the ISO); above 400, things get grainy. Below and your aperture suffers (blurred image unless everything is very still).

S7 in Pro mode (no post processing).
