Setting up 29g (30''x12''x19'') and have 3 Kessil A80's and a Noopsyche K7 Mini v3 for lighting, I was originally planning around 1 A80 and 1 K7 lighting this tank sufficiently... would the A80's on full blue/actinic help anything or be worth setting up? I'd like to have enough par variation to have zoa gardens & acro success eventually

How would you set up the lighting with the above mentioned lights & tank?

That’s a lot of light and expensive too! I’d say you really only need one in the middle maybe two at the most but I feel like that’s even a lot because it will reach.
yeahh... sometihing about investing in a hobby and "i couldnt pass the deal up" lol... one a80 in the middle, or just the k7 mini?

Not really, it’s only around 115 watts, for a 30 inch long tank, I would say for sps it would be the minimum needed.

105w, yeah i was thinking about maybe the 3 a80s across the top
I’d do one Kessil in the middle to start.
I have 1 A80 over my 5 gallon currently, do you think that’s too much light then? Another YouTube video I saw mentioned ~100 par under the light at the bottom of a tank the same hight as mine - a80 is at full int, about 70% (or 9 o clock on the dial if you’ve seen their dials before)

Kessil a 80's are 15 watts each.
Mini is 60w. About a 20x20" @ 20" 150 par
Soo Mini in the middle, 2 kessils on the sides.
90w all on full
Kessil a 80's only push about 50 par at 12" in a 12*12 area
Pretty useless at 18" plus mounting height.
Better off getting a second mini

I come from a time when we used par38 screw in led lamps. Lol.
You literally go to the hardware store and get the screw in light bulb garage pieces and wire em together yourself and cut an extension cord end off and wire that up too. Lol.
I used 3 over a 20L with good success. I'd recommend at least 4 for the tank mentioned above.

Thank you for mentioning the height difference I guess it’s something I overlooked - sounds like that would be the move unless DIY a stand sitting directly over the top risk/no top down looking or easy maintenance

what’s up with lights down on the back or sides of the tank lol seems like glass doesn’t cut par too much never seen anything like that before probably for good reason

It’s the “wire em together yourself” I’d absolutely love to avoid haha
