Yes, I am trying to be patient but I am already looking at some fish. ;WootLooking good. The rebound is well underway
Thank you Fudsey !Looks great Pancho ! ! !
Pancho,The beginning of my thread was not so good so here it is a little improvement:
My wife and I decided to build a new house, we live in Aguascalientes, Mexico. As part of the new house I decided to upgrade my current 70L nano to a Red Sea Max S-500. I put it together along with two friends from the LFS. The tank was crazy heavy. The set up was done with dry rock and I am using Red Sea Coral Pro salt.
I went with a Red Sea Max as I needed a gorgeous tank because it is in my living room and needed something to be neat and good looking, no cables whatsoever is another of the characteristics I liked. The Hydra 26 HD lights make a great job but the skimmer is subpar. It is a shame Red Sea does not give the option to buy the system without a skimmer. I immediately detected I would need a chiller since it is may and the tank is running at 26 C already. After 5 weeks of cycling the tank was ready to receive the fish and corals from my nano, my clowns, chromis, crabs and corals went in without any problem. They thrived from the beginning, the only adjust I had to make is to dim the lights as the Red Sea recommended settings were bleaching my duncans.
The skimmer is so so but I cannot get ride of some micro bubbles, does anybody has experience on this?
I wonder why a lot of people struggle with them to. My branching hammer hasn’t done well and I’m hesitant getting a torch or other euphyllia
Wow ! I miss Aguascalientes but hey I will be there on Sunday so I will have a ton of Mexican food.Pancho,
How funny, my wife is from Aguascalientes! and her family still lives there! I am running my lights at 40% and things are doing great, (AI Hydra HDs). I have the Red Sea E-260. I hope you have solved the microbubble problem. Usually when your skimmer is broken in then you have no more bubbles.
Good luck to you!
Hello ! yes that is crazy, reefing is not an exact science, maybe that’s why we enjoy it so much? It’s crazy how different corals grow differently for different people. My torches are crazy big. And I don’t think I did anything special. I have kind of dirty water? A lot of nitrates.
Does not look good..... Yesterday the rest of it started looking bad. It is the second coral I ever bought and that was almost 2 years ago.Thank you Fudsey !
How is the hammer doing?
Dang, sorry man.Does not look good..... Yesterday the rest of it started looking bad. It is the second coral I ever bought and that was almost 2 years ago.
