That doesn’t seem right. Might want to call eco tech.
It’s right
These g6 xr15 pros are par weaklings
I had to get 3 for a 50g cube

I am speechless!!
I had 2 originally but I had to crank them up to 100% intensity to get close to the par of my previous hydra 52s. But I had a couple Tenuis bleach and later rtn from led burn, even though the par was lower than the old lights. I added the third so I could run them at 70%, with higher par and all the corals seem much happier now.

People need to understand that moving to LEDS that are more "panel type" than "puck" is going to lead to lower peak par numbers - but that the numbers are a bit deceptive. PAR meters have a relatively wide field of view - but they're less accurate when light is further off-axis.

And corals aren't par meters, and they're not flat across the top. Wider light incidence means they get light to a larger surface area of tissue - so they don't need as high peak numbers. I've found that even with my G3s - having multiple lights (at the same total par range) leads to significantly better color and growth in my acropora.

PAR is just the easiest thing to measure - it is by no means an accurate view of whether or not that specific spot and lighting can support growth.

I run 2 of the XR15 G5's with 4 36" T5 bulbs over my 70g Its about 9 inches off of the surface and @30% I get 400 right below the surface under the XR15's and 200 at the ground

G5s have different lenses than the G6s

Is that with the T5s off? I have gen 5 on my 36 inch tank and recently par tested and was shocked how low the numbers were. I'm at 100 percent now for 300 par few inches below the water.

This! Make sure you have both point intensity and Schedule Intensity set correctly.
Mobius is a bit confusing.
Could you share screenshot of your lights profile?
He has it right. Trust me. These lights are very weak when it comes to par measurements. I agree with @92Miata that par is not the whole story and end all be all, bc I learned the hard way. Bleaching corals at 275-300 par bc the LEDs are maxed out is not what you want to do.

Very interesting! I thought the G6 was supposed to be an improvement over the G5?

On full you should get close to this. At 6" there isn't much in the way usually.

Note another thing, don't paint your back glass.

Anyway there are a lot of reasons that could cause such a wide "discrepancy". Most would be hard to pinpoint, from out of calibration par sensor to "cherry picked" light at brs.

Issue needs more data if you ask me.
I definitely would question it if my 100% par was 1/2 of published specs..

I may have missed it, what par meter are you using?
