Pellets that sink

What pellets can I use in my automatic feeder that can sink? I've been using Hikari Marine and PE Mysis pellets and even though they claim they are sinking and some do sink, i see a whole bunch ending in the sump making my skimmer overflow. Are there any good quality pellets that can sink reliably?

perhaps you could mount your feeder over your return pump section so that when the pellets sink eventually, they will be spat out into the DT.

Pellets winding up in your sump shouldn’t cause your skimmer to overflow. I think that’s a different issue. However, sinking pellets can be kind of tough. A lot of times the pellets will capture some air and they won’t sink immediately. You can try a feeding ring under your auto feeder. That will prevent the food that is floating from going over the overflow and give it time to absorb water and sink.

You want to get a feeding ring/tube, which is going to be the best solution if you have an overflow skimming the surface of the display tank. Once the fish figure it out, they will be at the bottom of the tube waiting when the food comes out. I use one with my auto feeder and almost nothing makes it more than a few inches out past the bottom of the tube...

True, but not for a bit of time. They float at the surface for a while first, and can therefor be pulled down the overflow. I’d definitely go with a feeding ring. I use the TLF one with New Life Spectrum pellets in an auto feeder. Does the trick.
