Well I currently live in North Port, Fl. Hate it! Been here 19 yrs and its to hot. Also makes reefing a challenge since most days you can’t open windows and PH becomes a problem. Not to mention temp issues. Had metal halides in Michigan and heat wasn’t a problem.

My wife and I took our honeymoon down in New Orleans back in '99 and I realized that the Louisiana/Florida/Texas area was NOT for me lol
Btw, I run outside air to my skimmer and it helps a great deal with my PH

I have a CO2 scrubber and open the windows early in the morning. It gets in the mid 70’s from 1am to 6am some nights. But the humidity is brutal. I have a AI Blade on my refugeum which helps with PH, Phos, and Nitrate levels but the heat in the cabinet adds to my heat problem so I run a fan on my tank surface for evaporation heat reduction. I have an Icecap temp controller but I’m changing it today to the ink bird because it has the ability to monitor hot and cold so I can add my fan so it kicks on when the heat gets high. I so love Florida. 😡

Do you know you’re supposed to use that tropic Marin hydrometer in a piece of PVC pipe instead of just placing it in your tank. You buy a piece of pipe just a little larger than the hydrometer and you cap one end you fill it with water so that when you place the hydrometer, it doesn’t overflow, but then you’re able to see the facility on the hydrometer. It won’t be bouncing around in your tank or your water container.
Yeah it’s a pain either way… my 20yr old trusty instant ocean hydrometer is always almost spot on with it lol..

Or, you could simply buy a graduated cylinder, which is easier to see through than PVC pipe 😁

Hanna For Alk, Nitrate, Phos, and Copper. Salifert for Cal and Mag.
this is what i do. although now i am switching to an auto alk tester. aquaforest is also equal to salifert imo for calc and mag.

I started with API and switched to Salifert. I still maintain the errors that people reported is because of misuse the syringe design which is hard to use because of the convex plunger to me is to blame. Saliferts are flat therefore accurate

Hanna:
-Alk
- low range (ULR) Nitrate and high range (HR)
- Phosphate (ULR)
- Calcium
- Copper

Salifert:
-pH
- ammonia
- magnesium

Salifert iodine, but I can never read the results properly. 🤨

Hannah for my QT tanks:
Ammonia
Copper

Hanna:
Calcium, Alkalinity, Magnesium, (HR)Nitrate and (ULR)Phosphate Tester.
Salifert:
Magnesium and PH Test Kit

Fluval mini master kit for ph, nitrite, nitrate, and ammonia

Refractor for salinity

Hanna for alkalinity

Hanna Master Marine. - so Hanna all around

All the Hanna tests are good save.

Hanna Calcium gets a bad rap, works great if used properly.

Hanna Mg agree isn’t all that good

Hanna PH is worthless. First set of reagents always 2ppm high. Next set always 2 ppm low. Hanna probe will not hold calibration

The rest of the Hannas are great.

Hanna
- Alk
- Nitrate
- Phosphate (ULR)
- Copper and SeaChem Ammonia Alert. (QT)

Salinity - Refractometer

Red Sea
- Calcium
- Mag

PH - API (Switching to Hanna soon)

Temp - Inkbird
